Journey of Andrew French
Before I ever picked up a paintbrush, I lived in the world of combat. I excelled as a professional fighter and had the honor of training military, paramilitary, and fighters around the world. Discipline, grit, and resilience were the foundation of my life.
But behind the fight, I carried battles most people never saw. I live with a hearing impairment and Chiari malformation, challenges that changed how I experienced the world and pushed me to find new ways of expression. Where my body once spoke through strength and movement, my art became the voice that carried the weight of my struggles and the beauty I wanted to share.
For me, creating art is an escape—my way of stepping outside the pain, the noise, and the weight of daily battles. Every canvas is a release, a place where hardship transforms into something meaningful. And my hope is that those who connect with my work find the same sense of escape, healing, and reflection within it.
My work is more than paint on canvas—it’s a transformation of struggle into creativity, a reflection of the scars that shaped me, and an invitation for others to discover a moment of stillness, beauty, or belonging through art.
Art isn’t just what I do now—it’s how I continue to fight, grow, and connect.
